A llyde Park message states that President Roosevelt at a press conference, said: “Tho refusal of the Senate to act this session regarding the neutrality legislation has killed off a nice little business boom. This is due to the uncertainty created in business circles, and will certainly have an adverse economic effect until next January, when Congress will again be convened." The President says that an analysis of 45 newepaper editorials showed a widespread demand, regardless of political affiliations, of having something done to make tho United Slates neutral and avert war.
