There is a good attendance and the track is a trifle soft but provides good winter going. FRENCH LONG-DISTANCE HORSES WERE BEST French three-year-olds in Tricameron and Hunter’s Moon IV fought out the finish of the Whito Rose Stakes, a fixed weight race, of £2SIS, at Hurst Park, on May 29. The distance was 1 mile 7 furlongs and 65 yards, and Hunter’s Moon was an even money favourite. He was beaten three-quarters of a length by Tricameron, but on E. Smith, rider of Hunter’s Moon IV, entering a protest. for interference on the part of Tucker. Tricameron was disqualified and tho race awarded to Hunter’s Moon IV. The stewards took nearly an hour to decide the objection, and tho only comment by Baron Edouard de Rothschild, owner of Tricameron, was: 11 It is a pity that tho stewards kept us in suspense for so long.” Tucker was suspended for tho remainder of the meeting.
