An exceptionally well directed kick by Wilson, who picked up from the ruck- , ing following the line out, brought yellows to the attack and in Old Boys ’ territory Dermer missed a penalty kick. For a period play was held in Old Boys’ territory and then Dashwood put up a great ruu to half way where he handed on to Waugh to Harford who slipped and fell to recover- quickly and send on to Whyte who carried on to Feilding's twenty-five yard line. It was a spectacular movement held up iu the end by the opposing forwards. Picking up in the loose Harford sent on to Reynolds who essayed a field goal but missed. Scrum after scrum was ordered and gradually Feilding invaded. Waldin missed a chance at penalty points and as tho leather did not go out Finlay, with great enterprise, took charge ant| brought play to half-way. Considerable mishandling followed until Dermer intercepted and broke through with almost a clear field. He travelled on nicely and sent on to Newman who accepted well and should have scored but ho passed out to- Henson when almost at the goal and a knock-on robbed the yellows of a certain try. Yellows were now pressing seriously and again Dermer threatened but Fade grassed him and Finlay came in to clear with a good kick. Pressed, Old Boys worked under pressure and Finlay attempted to clear with a kick which Waldin accepted and the 3'ellow rearguard narrowly missed a field goal. Black with Wells cleared after lqngthy defensive play but Finlay stepped offside and Waldin. sent up a great kick which brought play from yellows' near territory to deep into Old Boys' twenty-live. Clearing through

Eade to Finlay, Old Boys lost ground again as Harford mulled tho pass. From tho serum yellows took charge and Dewe short-punted to trap Rutherford who w'as well off wide and Waldin once more made sure of his kick for the sideline. Old Boys routed the invaders and quickly had play on Feilding goal line where Dewo snapped the leather away from the rucking and fell against the upright. It was, however, no score, but yellows were penalised for offside play and Finlay had no difficulty in j sending over his kick. 3 —o. j In the next rally Waugh directed a good kick to yellows' corner flag and from the line-out Black bull-dozed his way through the opposition to send on to Rutherford who registered.
