STRONG PROTEST PROM BRITISH CONSUL

(Independent Cable Service.) HONG KONG, July 10.

'the British Consul at Tientsin is making a strong protest to the Japanese authorities following a Japanese sentry shooting in the direction of the British tugboat Saxon while a sampan was trying to make fast to « lighter which the Saxon was towing. The shots wounded two Chinese aboard the Saxon and also a sampan man.
