Jewish Settlement For Australia
Financed From Britain and America
100 REFUGEES ON SMALL FARMS
United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Monday, Midnight. SYDNEY, July 10.
Arrived by the Mariposa from a tour abroad Mr. Paul A. Cohen, founder of the Jewish Welfare Society for Refugees, said he had arranged for largo sums of money which he was applying to land settlement for refugees. The niouev was being provided by the Jewish communities in America and Britain and he hoped to settle refugees on a hundred small farms in Australia.
Mr. Cohen added that he visited Palestine where Jews of any age and any profession had readily adapted themselves to the land. The majority were bound to make a success of their new-found occupations. Training centres would be established in various parts of Australia in anticipation of wellorganished Jewish colonisation.
