Ciano Off to Spain
MEETING WITH FRANCO NEXT
WEDNESDAY
ROME, July 9. ■To discuss economic, political and
military relations, the Italian Foreign Minister, Count Ciano, left for Spain aboard a cruiser. He will be meeting General Franco on July 12.
Count Ciano said the visit was a confirmation of Italian-Spanish solidarity, which had ben exemplified during the civil war.
Italy wanted a strong and united Spain. “The latter knows,” he said, “that it can always depend on Italy’s support.”
