ASHBURTON HOSPITAL BOARD’S DECISION Per Press Association. ASHBURTON, July 10. After a discussion iu which the Health Department was criticised for failure to reply to urgent representations made some w’eeks ago, the Ashburton Hospital Board appointed a committee to investigate the possibility of instituting a means test for maternity patients applying for admission to the home under the board's control. The statement was made that applications would be received from all persons in the community and the board could not take those who could afford to pay fees to the exclusion of others obviously deserving of assistance.
