MUDGWAY BEATS CALTAUX Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 10. In a non-title bout to-night W. Mudgway (welterweight champion of New Zealand) beat Vic Caltaux (Auckland) on points. The bout was markeo by solid boxing and although Caltaux was the aggressor in tho opening rounds Mudgway soou meusured him up and secured a useful lead. BAKER BEATS DAVIS INVERCARGILL, July 10. Dick Baker, 10.3 (Invercargill) beat Jack Davis, 10.7 (Hastings) on points in a ten-round professional welterweight boxing contest to-night. Davis won the early rounds, but Baker got the Jead over the last three rounds and punished Davis at the finish. Baker was down for a count of eight in the second round and Davis was knocked down for one in the last round. Davis’ ruggedness saved him from being knocked out. The decision met with a mixed reception
