Amateur Operatic Society Hold Initial Rehearsal

“MAID OF THE MOUNTAINS” There was an attendance of nearly 50 at the initial rehearsal by the Palmerston North Amateur Operatic anil Dramatic Soicety of tho musical comedy “Maid'of the Mountains,” in the Royale Dutch Lounge last evening. Mr. C. Mowlem is the musical director and Mrs. V. G. Clift pianist. The “Maid of the Mountains,” which was written by Frederick Lonsdale, with the lyrics by Harry Graham and the music by Harold Fraser-Simson, is a most popular musical in three acts and will be presented at the Opera House from November 18 to 23, with a matinee on tho opening day. There are still vacancies for anyone wishing to join the production.
