British Music Society
Members and lovers of music generally are anticipating with great interest the appearance of Miss Dorothy Davies on a Palmerston North platform at the second concert of the British Music Society tomorrow evening. This talented pianist, since returning to New Zealand, has been accorded enthusiastic receptious wherever she has been heard. Besides a natural ability and charm, she brings to her performance the fruits of nine years’ intelligent and successful study of European culture and art in all branches. She has, moreover, kept abreast of the times and has had wide experience in the most modern forms of transmitting to a world public—radio and television; tho latter method is one which the New Zealand public eagerly awaits and Miss Davies assures us that we will have it very soon in an almost perfected form. Mr Ray Trewern, the Wellington tenor, who will also be appearing tomorrow evening, is another artist whose talent has taken him abroad for further study and whom we are glad to have back on our shores. His successful concert in Wellington this week is witness to his ever-grow-ing popularity in that city. The performance is open to members of the public.
