New Plymouth Wedding

PRIME—LIST A wedding of interest to Shannon was celebrated in St. Alary’s Chfirch, New Plymouth, on Saturday afternoon, when Miss Elizabeth Jane- List, younger daughter of Mrs. List and the late Air. T. C. List, and grand-nieco of Air. J. S. Wilkinson, an old resident of the Shannon district, was married to lan Langdon Prime, only son of Airs. Prime and the late Air. Stanley N. Prime, Napier, Hawke’s Bay. The ceremony was performed by Archdeacon J. D. Russell, of Oamaru, assisted by Archdeacon G. H. Gavin, of New Plymouth. The bride who was given away by an old friend of tho family, Air. Afthur E. Alanning, of Hamilton, wore a beautiful gown of French ivory satin, embossed in a silver rose design. Three lilies of the dress material, worn just off the forehead, held in place tho cascading veil of silk tulle which fell over the face of tho bride in front, to tho hem of her frock, and also enveloped the long biased fan shaped train at tho back. She carried a sheaf of ricardea lilies. In attendance on tho bride were Miss Patricia Bently, Auckland, Aliss Nancy Prime, Napier (sister of the bridegroom), Aliss Molly Patterson, Wellington, Miss Elise List, New Plymouth (cousin of the lrride), and Aliss Joan Webster, New Plymouth. They wore frocks of soft mist-silk ninon, cut on Elizabethan lines, with heart shaped necklines, and long, inset sleeves. The bodices were laced with viola velvet. Pastel tones in five shades were used separately for the frocks, the colours being stratosphere blue, sunset purple glow, camellia Cream, foam groen and orchid pink, the colour scheme being planned to resemble an artist’s palette. On their heads they wore plumes, in court fashion, to match the sashes on their frocks, and they carried sheafs of delphiniums and sweet peas.

The best man was Mr. John D. Ormond, Wallingford, Waipukurau, Hawke’s Bay. The ushors were Mr. Lindsay Page, Wellington, Mr. M. J. Lobb, New Plymouth, Air. John D. Prime, Auckland, and Mr. G. E. Bisson, Wellington. A reception was held at Alaranui, the bride’s mother receiving tho guests wearing a French model frock of black charmelaine, matching three-quarter coat with mole collar and cuffs, and black hat. Airs. S. N. Prime was in a two-piecc ensemble, in storm cloud blue, with matching hat. The bride travelled in a valley green suit, trimmed with coney fur on the finger tip coat and hoinburg hat, with touches of brown ermine.
