Mrs. C. Quartennan and Mr. I\ Danieil were the prize-winners, consolation prizes being awarded to Mrs. J. Coster and Mr. Stan. Rosvall, who secured least wins. Mr. and Mrs. W. Darvill, Masterton, 'were week-end visitors to the beach. Mr. Darvill’s cottage at the western extension is nearing completion and will have all modern conveniences. Mr. and Mrs. J. Coster, Sanson, and Mrs. Lash, sm\, were the week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. Dawson. Mrs. A. Alsop, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. J. P Stubbs, stayed at her cottag'e for the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. H. Philps, who have been staying with Mr. and Mrs. C. Quartennan, returned to Whareroa, I-lunterville, on Monday. The second cribbage tournament this season was held in the supper-room on Friday evening and resulted in a win for Mrs. Western and Mr. C. Quarterman in the respective sections. Members of the Palmerston North Tenequoit Club held the second of wiiat is to be a series of social evenings at Manawatu Heads during the week-end. The function was similar to the one held recently, and those taking part were again the guests of the president, Mr Leo Andrews, and Mrs. Andrews, who were assisted by an efficient organising committee. The members and friends foregathered at Mr. and Mrs. Andrews residence for afternoon tea on Saturday afternoon, and later made use of the Beach Hall for dancing, etc., where a cheerful log fire added to the enjoyment of the occasion. Supper at the home of the host and hostess brought a pleasant outing to a close.
