From Our Own Correspondent. Saturday’s Rugby Gantfes Representative: Taihape 11 defeated Rangitikei 6. Juniors: Old Boys 16 defeated Halcombe 0, Bulls 12 defeated Rata 8, Huntervillo 6 defeated Ohingaiti 0. Thirds: Old Boys 29 defeated Flock House 3, Hunterville forfeited to Bulls. Old Boys v. Halcombe.—The main game on Marton Park on Saturday saw Old Boys continue on their winning way by defeating Halcombe by 16 points to nil. The teams lined out as follows:—Old Boys (blue): McLean, J. Duncan, E. Twigg, Ryder, Hutton, Coleman, Tolly, Young, Morrison, A. Duncan, Ellery, I. Sicely, Miles, Maiden, Livingstone. Halcombe i (yellow and black): M. Bishop, Fergusson, i Teki, Searancke, McNae, McCormick, Turner, J. Moran, Page, R. Moran, Judd, J Davies, Iwakau, Bishop, T. Hutton. From ' a melee near the Halcombe twenty-five the ball was kicked over the line and a Halcombe and Old Boys player faced for the ball but both missed it and I. Sicely pounced upon it to put Old Boys into the lead. Ryder missed the kick. Old Boys 3 Halcombe 0. In the second half a long kick went down to the Halcombe fullback, who knocked on. Third grade game.—Old Boys and Flock House thirds played the curtain-raiser to the Old Boys v. Halcombe junior game. Flock House played well, but were no match for the older and more experienced Old Boys team. The game ended in h win for Old Boys by 29 points to 3. .Scorers for the winners were L. Leonard (2), J. Evans (2), Hendra, Banks and J. Keystone. P. Johnston converted two, J. Evans one and D. Kingham one. For Flock House Paratene scored. Mr. T. Woods refereed. Hockey There were two hockey games played at the park on Saturday afternoon. The . first game was between the UnitedTutaenui A and B ladles’ teams, and resulted in an easy win for the A team by 10 goals to 3. In the men’s game the newly-formed Marton team had another win, beating Swifts by 4 goals to 3. The scorers for Marton were P. Lofts (2), P. Parkinson and C. Calkin, and for Swifts W. Reid and S. Hocken (2) were the scorers. Harriers On Saturday the local club had a novel outing when a teams’ race between th'e married and single members of the club was conducted. The single men’s team managed to win by 25 points to 30. Details were:— Single team: M. Griffen, 22min. 43sec., 2; S. Christopher, 23min. 28sec., 3; W. Hill, 24min. 28sec., 5; W.
