Feilding Borough Estimates
——— « NO INCREASE IN RATES
The Feilding Borough estimates for the current year were considered at Thursday’s meeting of the Council and finally adopted. Ratepayers will bo interested to learn that they provide for no increase in rates and the same rate collected last year will apply this year, namely, a consolidated rate of 9Jd in tlio £ on the unimproved value. This is estimated to produce a total of £18,269, while sundry licenses and fees bring the total estimated revenue to £27,245. The figures show little it any variation on those of last year, and, allowing for a contingency of £2OO, the expenditure is estimated at £27,215.
The Alayor (Air. T. L. Seddon) reviewed the several items in the estimates, covering their particular departments. The result was very satisfactory and all councillors were fully conversant with of the borough’s activities.
Cr. V. E. Smith agreed with the Alayor and considered congratulations were due to the town clerk, Air. C. H. Tate, and the borough engineer. Air. T. K. Hay, for their guidance and assistance.
