All Saints’ Children’s Home

At the monthly meeting of All Saints* Children’s Home committees held at the Home, Canon G. Y. Woodward presided, other present being Mesdames W. F. Field, Martin, Nichoils, W. J. Phillips, Robinson, Misses K. Owtrarn and R. Whyte. There were apologies from Mrs. Akers, Mr. and Mrs. N. Blackmore, Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Bagnall, Mr. Callis, Rev. Farnell, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Mansford, Mrs. Woodward and Colonel Whyte. The matron reportod that the children were in excellent health and were enjoying the holidays, tne older children attending the afternoon sessions of the competitions at the kind invitation of the management committee. During the month Captain Caswell, of tho Church Army, paid a visit to the Horae. A splendid supply of vegetables, jam and groceries has come in from the harvest festivals. Firing is a big item auring the winter months, especially now with the price of wood as it is. Any donations will be gratefully received. There was an application for three boys to enter the Home, which was accepted.

The committee wish to thank the following for their generous gifts to the Home:—Mr. Pratt, haircutting; Alanawatu Meat Co., meat; Air. Larson, cream; Jenkinson, buns; Cocoanut Grove ballroom, cakes; Airs. Brougham, vegetables, NV.D.F.U., Kiwitea-Kimbol-ton branch, sandwiches and milk; Aliss Hubbard, cakes and sandwiches; Stratford, two sacks vegetables; Scout camp, per Air. Callis, cakes; Mrs. Harkness, fruit; Mrs. Marshall, fruit; Miss Harris (Pahiatua), jam; A Friend, groceries. Harvest thanksgivings from the following parishes: Bulls, Shannon, Atidhurst, Kimbolton, Kiwitea, Apiti, Waverly, Takaro, St. Peter’s, Terrace End, Wanganui, Stratford, Kairanga, Utiku, Foxton, Tokomaru, Linton, Hunterville.
