The chairman extended a welcome to the incoming committee members and said it was pleasing to note the interest taken in the association 7 s activities. The general policy obsorved in the past had been the concentration on things wortli-whilo aud avoidance of trivial matters. Ample evidence of the success of this policy was to be found in the improved state of the district and the good fellowship existing among members of the association. He hoped that the present committee would adhere to tho same policy and preserve the harmonious relations which existed between the associationd all local bodies with which it came in contact. It was pleasing to note from correspondence received that a footpath was to be formed in Botanical Road between Chelwood Street and the Kawau bridge, also that steps would be taken to rectify the conditions existing in Bryant Street. Discussing the question as to whether the committee should continue to hold its meetings in residences of members, it was pointed out that a 3 the associa-

Tho annual canvass of the district for members was next discussed and it was decided to notify residents. Committee members were allotted streets to canvass. It is hoped that this necessary part of the association's activities will be completed before the next meeting of the committee.
It was decided to arrange a euchra tournament with the West End Progressive Association, the secretary being instructed to arrange a mutually suitable date for same.
It was decided to ask the City Council if provision could be made in the bus service to bring children home after school. It was pointed out that the
children, although adequately supplied with transport in the morning and at lunch time had ,on very wet days, no means of transport after school. As last year’s basketball had fallen into disrepair, it was decided to provide a new one.
Application is to be made to the City Council to have the remaining streets in tho district which are not tarsealed, placed on the estimates. The suggestion that the association take out a comprehensive insurance policy on the Jamieson Cup, was approved.
