President Warns Miners
U.S. COAL STRIKE DEADLOCK United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Wednesday, 11.50 p.m. WASHINGTON, May 10. President Roosevelt issued a virtual ultimatum to both sides in the coal strike deadlock, urging them to submit by to-night to a plan in which mining operations can be resumed immediately More than 500,000 miners aro out of work and many industries are facing disastrous closure. The President warned of stern alternatives unless prompt action was forthcoming.
