To Deal With Bombers
AMERICA BUILDING POWERFUL PURSUIT PLANES United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Wednesday, 9.40 p.m. NEW YORK, May 10. Plans are announced for building a twin-engined pursuit plane capable of a speed of 400 miles an hour and carrying a 37-millimetre gun firing a hundred 1.1 pound explosive shells a minute, capable of destroying with a single shot the largest bombers. It is believed it will be one of the most effective aerial combat planes yet devised.
