Armed Police Search For Escaped Prisoners

DISAPPEARED WHILE ON PAROLE United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Wednesday, 11.45 p.in. MELBOURNE, May 10. Armed police warders have been searching the bush roads round Beechworth since early yesterday for George Grannoa and Raymond Cullen, indeterminate sentence prisoners, who disappeared while working with 14*other reformatory clearing land near a pine plantation a few miles from Bcechworth. The only food the men had was bread and jam, which they had eaten for luneh yesterday. The men were honour prisoners. Men are reported to have been seen in prison garb near Springhurst this afternoon stated to be heading for Wangaratta. All bridges en route are closely guarded by armed police. There are z»o thefts of food or clothing reported* The men may be driven by hanger to gurrender.
