A letter was received from the National Peace Council of New Zealand, enclosing a petition. It was decided to approve of the appeal for a world conference for peace, understanding and economic co-operation, and \*ie chairman and secretary were authorised to sign the petition on behalf of the committee. Correspondence was received from tho Wanganui Education Board as follows: Advising that the environment certificate for the excellence of the school grounds had been renewed on the recommendations of the inspector; advising that a letter had been, forwarded by Mr. M. The action of the chairman and secretary in attending to various matters was approved by the committee, and the visitors for fcie month also reported on several matters requiring attention. Te Awahou Boxing Club The first meeting of the season of the Te Awahou Boxing Club was held last Friday evening. An enthusiastic spirit prevailed and it is anticipated that the club will have a successful season. A pleasing feature of the meeting was Cue number of young people who have joined up as members. Those responsible for the management of the club are making arrangements for a local boxing contest in the near future, and it is also worthy of mention that the Levin boxing enthusiasts are showing an active interest in boxing activities in Foxton. The mutual interests of both clubs should be all to the good.
