Exploits of Two Intrepid Cameramen
‘ ‘ SHARPSHOOTERS ’' CHASE DANGER ’ROUND THE WORLD (Kosy: Screening Friday.) The heroes of ‘ 4 Sharpshooters, ’ ’ dramatizing the exploits of “The Camera Daredevils,” are two devil-may-care newsreel photographers chasing danger ’round the world! And they’re ready on a moment’s notice to take their lives in their hands—or maybe a girl in their arms. In the featured roles are Brian Donlovy, Lynn Bari and Wally Vernon. In “Sharpshooters,” Donlevy is given full opportunity in the type of reckless, romantic action role for which lie is noted Lynn Bari is seen as Brian’s niftiest assignment, while Wally Vernon is cast as Waldo, the movie sound man. His hilarious comedy talents are given full play and provide an ideal foil for the reckless daring of the dynamic Donlevy. The story of “Sharpshooters” opens on a high action note with Donlevy and Vernon in a clash with the gendarmes of a foreign imncipality where their resourcefulness wins them exclusive shots of the assassination of a monarch.
From then on the action is said to move with lightning speed through a series of adventures that catapults the Camera Daredevils in and out of trouble. Assigned to cover a coronation, they become involved with a band of conspirators who are plotting to kill the prince.
Inspired by their love of adventuro and, incidentally, a beautiful girl who is governess to the young prince, they utilize their wit and talents in behalf of the king-to-be. What follows makes for an exciting and suspenseful story background for the exploits of the two intrepid cameraman.
