Bound, Gagged and Robbed
MAN FOUND IN WANGANUI l’er Press Association. WANGANUI, April 14. At Wanganui at 1.30 a.m. yesterday a man was found gagged and bound in F’*rue 11 Street. He stated to the police ‘hat lie had been robbed of £l3O. Investigations by the police, however, indicated that there was nothing to substantiate the story of the robbery. When found the man was elaborately tied wi‘H neckties on his arms and legs, with a handkerchief and two socks forming a gag in his mouth. The front of his hail was burnt; lie alleged that this had beev done by his assailant. lie described I ; s assailant to the police when first interr ; ewed. The man was sleeping in a tent at the back of a house; after tying himso’f up he rolled to the back door, where he was discovered by one of the inmates. He was attended by a doctor and the police sent for.
