Puketoi Rugby Sub-Union

ANNUAL MEETING HELD The annual meeting of tho Puketoi Rugby Sub-Union was held in the council chambers, Pongaroa, on Saturday evening. Mr. W. T. Rautu presided and there wero also present: Messrs. S. McLaren (secretary), F. Holden and D. Bowie (Pukehinnu), H. Power and G. Thompson (Coast), S. Raleigh and R. J. Harman (Tiraumea) and J. McMillan and P. Peters (Pongaroa). The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted. The resignation of Mr. Rautu as president and sole selector was accepted with regret, and on tho motion of Mr. Raleigh he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his services to the subunion over the past four years. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: Patron, Mr. F. Armstrong; president, Mr. P. A. Donovan; vice-presidents, Messrs. C. Hunter, C. T. Richardson, R. J. Harman, D. D. Riddell, O. Olsen, W. T. Rautu, F. A. Meech, E. Knowles, O. Whitmore and J. A. Smith; secretary, Mr. S. McLaren; sole selector, Mr. P. A. Donovan. Owing to the continued dry weather it was decidod not to open tho season until early in May. MAN GAT AIN OKA FOOTBALL CLUB ANNUAL MEETING The annual general meeting of the Mangatainoka Football Club was held in the Library Hall, Mangatainoka, Mr. V. Brown presiding over a good attendance. The annual report was read and adopted. The following were elected officers for the coming year:: Patron, Mr. E. L. Harvey; president, Mr. J. Dick; vicepresidents, Messrs. J. D. Manson, L. Stringfellow, R. Galbally, E. Chisnall, H. Cotter, B. Draper, D. Morrison and V. Brown; secretary, Mr. Errol Lett; management committee, last year's committee was re-elected, with the addition of Messrs. K. Sharplin, V. Brown and A. Macpherson; delegates to Bush Rugby Union, Messrs. M. Reichenbach and S. Ollivcr; selectors, Mr. M. Reichenbach (senior) and Mr. F. Staples (third grade); club captain, Mr. S. Olliver. The club subscription was fixed at 2s Cd for senior and Is for third grade members. Arrangements for the first match of the season wero left in the hands of the secretary and Messrs. M. Reichenbach and S. Olliver. It was decided to begin work on marking tho grounds on tho first Saturday after Easter at 1 p.m. Messrs. S. Hogan and S. Leith were elected members of the club.
