Feilding Municipal Band

RECENT GALA FUNCTION The recent gala function organised by the Feilding Municipal Band in order to raise the balance of funds required to finance the band to the contest at Christchurch next week netted a sum of over £6O which is above the amount required. The band will leave this week-end and will take with it the best wishes of Feilding citizens for its su2cess. Competition results in connection with the gala are as follows: —Drum of benzine, Mr. R. T. Burt; hearth rug, Mr. C. Eggletou; iced cake, Mr. E. McKinnon; E.P.N.S. set, Mrs. Cater. Bunuythorpe; cushion, Mrs. Stringer; tea cosy, I. O. lvitto, Lower Hutt; powder bowl, Mr. G. Smith; wine, Messrs Kent and Wilkinson. The band is indebted to the members of the inter-house sports teams from Palmerston North, and to Mr. J. R.

Wingate and members of his orchestra for their assistance at the gala, which so materially assisted towards the sue cess of the gathering.
