WOODVILLE EW V FAIR Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd. report that at the Woodville ewe fair on Monday a total yarding of 670 ft sheep comprised principally of ewes on account of local farmers. In the offering were several lines of splendid 4and 5-yr. ewes wheih attracted keen attention at possibly slightly reduced rates to those ruling at other immediate fairs; nevertheless there was good buying power and we report almost a total clearance at auction. Smith, Coonocr, 2-th. ewes 25s 7d; a/c. Mr. R. E. Meech, Pongaroa, 2-th. ewes (extra good) 29s 6d; a/c. Mr. T. H. Bryant, 2-th. ewes (good) 275; a/c. Mr. J. S. HIMATANGISALE At the monthly sale at Himatangi saleyards on Monday the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report a total clearance at very satisfactory prices. The yarding was fully up to advertised numbers and a keen demand was apparent throughout. A small yarding of sheep sold successfully at prices in keeping with recent sales, and a good offering of fat and store cattle sold very well, realisations showing a slight advance on current rates. We can quote sales as follows: Ewes and lambs, 12s 9d (all counted); fat ewes, 10s 7d; fat hoggets, 225; fat cows ex dairy, £4 ss, £4 1 Os, £5 ss, £5 10s, £6 to £7; runners, £3 10s; cows and calves, £3 10s to £4 7s 6d; store cows, £2 10s, £3 to £4; bulls, £2 10s to £5 7s 6d. APITI SHEEP FAIR At the annual Apiti sheep fair on Monday the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Aency Co., Ltd., report an excellent sale with practically a total clearance under the hammer. Over 4000 sheep were yarded and a large attendance of the public showed keen interest in the advertised lines of ewes. Particular interest was shown in the lino of 180 4-yr. age marked ewes of Mr. J. McIntyre, and these sheep realised 26s Id. Several lines off hard country, with failing mouths, were rather hard to quit, the public showing preference for the better mouthed sheep. A few lines of 2-th. ewes were offered, prices in this section ranging from 21s 6d to 25s lOd. A small offering of lambs sold satisfactorily at prices in keeping with recent rates, and several S.D. rams realised from one to four guineas, according to quality.
