Thrones in the House of Lords.—When King Edward VIII. came to the throne following the death of King George V., the two thrones in the House of Lords were replaced by a single one as there was no Queen. Now that King George VI. is head of the Empire the old order has been restored, the throne on the left being provided for Queen Elizabeth.
