The National Leader

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I read with, amusement the report in “The Times” of Mr. Hamii ton’s visit to the city. Mr. Mills stated that he hoped next time Mr. Hamilton visited them it would be as Prime Minister. Well sir, I attended a National meeting recently in Kaitawa, ad dressed by tho Nationalist candidate for Masterton and ho informed those present that Mr. Hamilton was the only suitable member to put in as leader at present, but as soon as the election is over they are going to replace Mr. Hamilton by “Young Sid Holland.” 1 noticed when this statement was referred to in the House, there was silence on the Opposition beuenes. So can any Nationalist deny this statement? I have asked several Nationalist supporters the reason for this change over and the only reply is receive is: “Well, you’ve heard him on tho air, haven’t you?’’ As for Mr. Hamilton saying, “The women have their blood up,” well, he’s right for once. We certainly won’t depend on “Young Sid,” or ho may let us down like Mr. Hamilton did when he was Minister of Unemployment. Wo shudder to recall those days. Can any Nationalist tell us one thing the last Government ever did for the women or youths of this country? Further, sir, Mr. Hamilton said ho hoped those who wanted to make this election dirty would get smothered themselves. So Nationalists beware.—l am, etc., (Mrs.) E. J. SWANNEY. Kaitawa, Pahiatua, September 7
