From Our Own Correspondent. School Euchre. The euchre evening in aid of the school piano fund was well patronised on Monday evening, the card players including visitors to the district. Messrs Wildbore and Hogan were in cnarge of the tournament. Mrs Wildbore won the ladies’ prize and Miss Le Quesne the consolation. Messrs P. Lewis and G. Wildbore tied for the men’s prize, the latter winning the play off. Mr Wildbore, when presenting the prizes, thanked all present for their support and said that the final evening of this series would be held on September 26. Supper was served by Mesdames Wildbore, Hogan, Mclntyre, Osborne, Misses Osborne and Mawhinriey. Personal. Mrs A. E. Prujean has returned home after a week’s visit to Marton. Mr J. Cantwell, of the Post Office staff, goes on annual leave this week and will be away for a month. Mr and Mrs Calder, of Kimbolton, are spending some weeks in Apiti with their daughter, Mrs H. Schmidt. Mr and Mrs Thompson are Dunedin visitors staying at the schoolhouso with their daughter, Mrs S. Morris.
