Bush Basketball Team Returns
HOME WITH KIWI TROPHY Yesterday by tho mid-day train the Bush basketball representative team arrived back from Timaru, where they played in tho annual basketball tournament. This is the first time that Bush has won tho Kiwi froph}-. At tho tour nament they were undefeated. All members of tho Bush team except one suffered whilo south with attacks of influenza and it is a credit to the team that they did so well.
On Saturday evening 400 members of the various toams wero entertained at dinner, when the trophies were presented. Miss Peebles, captain of tho Bush team, received the trophy and made a suitablo speech. On Sunday aftornoon the combined bands of Timaru entertained the basketball teams at Carolina Bay where there was a record attendance.
As a mark of appreciation the manageress, Mrs. L. T. Russell, was presented with a beautiful crystal powder bowl from tho members or tho bush representative team.
