Success of Miss Jean Scott’s Pupils
During tho torm holidays Miss Jean Scott, of Cuba street, was very success iul with her pupils, both at Hawera an ! Wellington coinpetiions. Miss Gladys Gower was placed first in tho skipping dance, tap dance, classical dance anu operatic dance, under 13 years, and second placo in tho character dance under 13, also gaining a silver cup for the most points in operatic danein under 13. Miss Isa McKenzie gaine first place in tho operatic dance, class (•ill dance, skipping dance, Re-el O’Tr loch, seantriubhais and character dim aver 13 years, also Miss McKenzie wr awarded the trophy for most points i operatic dancing, over 13 years, and tie for tlio silver cup for most points in the national dancing. At tho Wellington competitions Miss Nancyo Conway, of Eongburn, gained first equal in tho Irish Jig, under 9 years, and very highly commended in tho Highland Fling, urider 9 years, and commended in the HaiJors’ Hornpipe, under 9 years.
