Flowers need Not Wither Now

A method of treating flowers so thai they will never wither has been evolved by a New York agricultural worker employed in the Bureau of Chemistry and Soils. They can be preserved in all their natural colour and beauty, with tho tissue structure of leaves and petals just as it appears in Nature.

The invontion will come as a boon to botanists, who can now make international exchanges of specimens and study them under the microscope in natural colour. Also for commercial purposes, lamp shades, screens, curtains, panels, walls, and books can oe decorated with natural flowers. The inventor’s method comprises immersing the flowers or plants in a special chemical solution which prevents air from bleaching or oxidising the plant structure and colours, and also imparts durability and flexibility.
