Business Girls Entertain Optimists

ENJOYABLE LUNCHEON PROGRAMME Departing from their usual fortnightly luncheon the Business Girls’ Club had as their .guests yesterday members of the Palmerston North Optimists’ Club. The president, Mrs. M. H. Oram, extended a welcome to the visitors, saying how much the club looked forward to their annual visit. Thanks on behalf of tho Optimists’ Club were returned by Optimist R. A. Fuller. Several delinquent members were fined by Sherrif N. Rees. An enjoyable programme was provided by Messrs. Rust, Young and Bullens, with piano-accordeon items, the deputysong leader, Padre McDowell, conducting community singing. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames A. E. Mansford, W. Riddett, H. Palmer, E. L. Christian, Miss M. Grant (vice-presidents) and Misses T. Holmes and L. Bennett. Members were reminded of the meeting in tho Y.W.C.A. rooms to-night, when Miss Elsie Andrews, M.8.E., will speak. Concluding an enjoyable gathering, the Optimist grace and the National Anthem were sung.
