Notes of the Day
Mr. B. G. Croudis, of Lower Huit, who succeeds Mr. D. Finlay as stationmaster at Feilding, has been a member of the service for 33 years. He is a keen tennis player and generally interested in amateur sport. Pending his arrival in Feilding Mr. J. Cowan will be acting stationmaster when Mr. Finlay leaves shortly to take up duties as assistant stationmaster at Palmerston North.
The following is the Feilding High School Old Girls 7 basketball team to play High School at 2 o’clock on Saturday: R. Heap, A. Clark, L. Coleman, N. Heap, N. Sand brook, P. Baker, V. Whisker, M. Parkes, D. Burgess; emergency, C. Mclntyre. Mr. and Mrs. Colin A. Philip, of Denbigh street, Feilding, are to leave on Saturday to make their future home at Pliinmerton. Mr. Philip, who has resided in Feilding for many years, was very interested in the work of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and for some years acted as the society’s inspector in Feilding.
