Rangoon Riots Under Control

DEATH ROLL 58 * Received Sunday, 7.20 p.m. RANGOON, July 30. The police were compelled to fire on the rioters in the suburb of Insein. The trouble seems to be extending to the suburbs generally and the military police have been instructed to shoot anyone of any nationality attacking or looting. A later message states that the death roll is 5-8. Tho situation is now under contrc]. TROUBLE IN THE PROVINCES AGA KHAN INTERVENES Received Monday, 1 a.m. RANGOON, July 31. The military police fired on the rioters, killing one. It is reported that minor trouble has broken out in some of the provinces, including Mandalay. The Aga Khan (head of the Moslems) has telegraphed from London urging the Moslems to respect tho customs and faith of the people among whom they live.
