Dominion’s Tabacco Industry

NEW FACTORY OPENED AT MOTUEKA Per Press Association. NELSON, Last Night. Hon. P. C. Webb, Minister of Mines, officially opened the State tobacco re conditioning factory at Motueka this afternoon. The Minister said the establishment of the factory marked a defiuito step in the progress of the tobacco industry, especially in regard to export. The factory was large enough to deal with a much greater quantity of export leaf than ever handle 1 before, and it was expected thut tho factory will handle this year 200,000 pounds of the past season’s crop.
