World-wide Disrespect of Treaties

An international conference on the bombing of open towns attended by 850 delegates from 30 countries including Britain deplored the world-wide disrespect of treaties and the disinclination to limit armaments. In support of collective security the conference urged the observance of the League Covenant and asked President Roosevelt and Cabinet to take the initiative. It demanded also the unhindered supply of anti-aircraft armaments and financial aid to countries which were victims of aggression, and also an embargo on petroleum and metals for aggressors.
