Demonstration of Electrical Cooking Tho first of a three-day season of demonstrations of electrical cooking by , Mrs. Barrington, under the auspices of I the Dannevirke Electric Power Board, took place in the Women's Institute hall yesterday afternoon, when there was an attendance of some 20 women representatives of both town and country. Mrs. Barrington has a good technique and whilo sho talked her lingers were busily employed, thereby maintaining a dual interest. On display in the hall wero several model ranges and a collection of oven ware recommended for use in electric evens. SATURDAY * S RASiXJbT 15ALL Only one junior competition was played in Woodvillo on Saturday, between Woodville Old Girls A and Pahiatua High School. The home team were successful after a keenly-contested match, winning by 20 goals to 16. Athletic defaulted to Papatawa. Woodville B defaulted to Ngawapurua. SCHOOL HEADMASTER Mr. W. E. Fossette, for the past two and n-half years headmaster of the Woodville District High School, has received notice of his promotion in the appointment to a similar position at the Carterton District High School. He will take up his new duties in tho course of a few weeks. GIFT PARTY At their homo in Vogel street on Saturday night Alisses C. and AL Harding entertained Miss M. Richards and Mr. J. Bennett and their friends in honour of tho approaching marriage of these two young people. Numerous gifts were received, and the programme included games, music and competitions and supper was provided. Mr L. Cotter returned thanks to Misses Harding for tho pleasurable evening, and Mr. Bennett responded on behalf of the bride-elect and himself.
