Missionary Auxiliary

METHODIST WOMEN’S MEETING The annual meeting of the Methodist Women's Missionary Auxiliary was held on Thursday last. The Rev. T. Coatsworth presided over a fair attendance and there were several apologies for absence received. The balance-sheet showed that the income for the year was quite good. The secretary's report showed that splendid work had been done during the year, that four bags of second-hand clothing had been sent to various sisters in home mission work for distribution among the Maoris, and also that a box of gifts had been sent to the Solomon Islands. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted:—President, Miss Harding; vice-presidents, Mesdames Coatsworth, R. Richards, J. Pryde, F. Hurley, H. Galbraith and B. Hutchings; secretary, Mrs. W. Bowman; assistant secretary, Mrs. Skinner; treasurer, Mrs. J. Pryde; organist, Mrs. A. Olsson; birthday league secretary, Miss L. Bowman; box secretary, Airs. W. Wilson; stamp secretary, Alias M. Harding; representative to quarterly board, Mrs. W. Bowman; afternoon ,tea convener, Mrs. J. Signal. The Rev. Coatsworth thanked the retiring officers for their past work. It was decided to place on record the splendid work done by Mrs. R. Richards as president for the past 10 years. After some discussion, it was decided that next month be the “gift" afternoon for tho Solomon Island boxes. After the Benediction, afternon tea brought to a close a very successful meeting.
