French opinion is preoccupied ever Italy's reaction to the Barcelona threats of reprisals, but it is believed the situation is easing. Press comment loiiows party lines, but agrees as to tho necessity of urging moderation between Spain ana Italy. The Italian Charge d’Affaires warned the Quai d'ursay tnat, if even the Italian ships in Franco’s ports are attacked, the reaction will be prompt and effective. Senor Gayda states tfnat if Italian and German ships or goods are banned, the implacaole reaction will not be Notes, but guns. A Valencia message states that the British steamer Arlan was airbombed and set on fire. One of the crew was killed. Insurgent ’planes also bombed tho British steamer Farnham anchored at Alicante and several are reported to be killed or injured. The ship is ablaze. RAIDS ON ALICANTE REBEL GAIN ADMITTED MADRID, June 26. The casualties in a raid on Alicante yesterday totalled 100 killed and 250 injured, including many women and ohildren. Tho working-class areas suffered most. Rebel Junker planes again railed Alicante to-day, 50 being killed and 150 wounded. The Government admits that General Franco’s troops captured Omla, west of Castellon, after severo fighting.
