MEETING AT HALCOMBE WOMEN'S BRANCH FORMED Approximately 100 members, including a large number of ladies, of the Halcombe branch of the N.Z. National Party organisation electorate assembled at the Halcombe Jubilee Hall on Saturday night for the monthly meeting of tho branch. Hon. J. G. Cobbe, M.P., National Party candidate for Manawatu, was present and was accorded a welcome by the chairman, Mr. J. Hamilton. Correspondence from the electorate secretary in regard to various matters of organisation was dealt with, following which Mr. Cobbe gave an address to the meeting, outlining the main political questions of the day. The speaker was attentively followed and at the conclusion of his address answered & number of questions, the main ones being in connection with the guaranteed price for dairy produce and the national superannuation scheme. It was unanimously decided to form a women's organisation of the party at Halcombe, the first meeting to be held on Thursday afternoon next, when Mrs. J. Williamson, president, will attend and give an address on the working of the organisation. The meeting closed with a hearty vote of thanks to Mr. Cobbe for his address and the serving of supper by +.he ladies.
