Methodist Guild
DEPARTING PRESIDENT HONOURED A meeting of the Methodist Ladies' Guild was held at the Parsonage on Tuesday afternoon, a good number being present. The president (Mrs. Roberts) opened with the usual devotions, Mrs. Ryan being at the organ. An apology from Mrs. Mansen was received. The buying committee w*as authorised to make several purchases for the Parsonage. The autumn fair in connection with the harvest festival was reported to be a great success, although held on a very wet day, and the satisfactory sum of £59 odd was realised after expenses were paid. The guild ladies were thanked for their hearty assist ance in making it such a success. This being the last meeting presided over by Mrs. Roberts, the guild expressed its appreciation of the efficient way in which Mrs. Roberts had performed he? duties a£ pre&idegt o/ the
guild and her hearty and cheerful assistance in all branches of the Church work. Mrs. Roberts was then presented with a handsome pair of gloves and a beautiful autumn bouquet. Mrs. Roberts expressed her appreciation of the gift, and said the work had ever been a pleasure to her and she had enjoyed doing it.. A dainty afternoon tea was provided by Mrs. Gowler, after which the meeting closed with the Benediction.
