ST. ANDREWS UPHOLDS HAMILTON DECISION. TOURNAMENTS POSTED. The N.Z. Golf Council met in Wellington on Monday and one letter dealt with is of particular interest as it was from the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and made reference to the disqualification of Murray in the last open championship at Hamilton. In November last the Golf Council wrote St. Andrews suggesting that it might be well if all practice shots during the play of a round were prohibited, not merely those during the play of a hole; but the Royal and Ancient Golf Club does not consider any alteration of the existing rules desirable. The matter of the disqualification at Hamilton was mentioned merely os a matter of interest and not for a decision (as tho Council had no doubt whatever on the subject). However, the Royal and Ancient Golf Club saw fit to add that the decision given at Hamilton was upheld. The resignation of the Foxton Golf Club was recorded and among the standard scratch scores allotted was one for Pahiatua, which has been fixed at 72. Tournaments advised were as under:— Easter.
