Feilding Hockey Association

EARLY REPRESENTATIVE GAMES The executive of the Feilding Hockey Association met on Tuesday evening, the president (Mr. P. G. Guy) occupying the chair. Also present were Messrs. S. Chesterfield, R. Eade, T. Tricklebank, W. Reid, T. and A. H. Packer, L. Trass, A. Funston, E. A. Garlick and the secretary, Mr. N. Donaldson. The tentative date for a match against the Indian team was given as Tuesday, August 2. Matches against the English women s team was set down for Thursday, July 14 and against New Zealand women’s All Blacks on Tuesday, July 19. The Feilding Association is especially privileged to have three first-class matches this season, all within one month. It was resolved to commence the competitions on Saturday, April 30, and entries will close on Saturday, April 23. It was decided to have a gala upon the day set aside for the May affiliated tourney and the following were appointed a committee to arrange the programme: L. Trass, A. H. and T. Packer and R. Eade. The women’s representative team are to be supplied with a new set of uniforms, the colours to be the same as the men’s representative team, viz. yellow, red and black. Favourable reports were received from Ohakea, Stanway, Carnarvon, that new teams would be available and would be playing. It is expected that 10 or 12 teams will be entered for the competitions.
