Registered Nurses
MEETING OF MANAWATU BRANCH A meeting of the council of the Manawatu branch of the Registered Nurses’ Association was held in the Plunket rooms this week, Miss C. MeKenny (Pahiatua) presiding. Also present were Misses A. Kearns, Warn, Wright, Allen, L. Banks, Heape, I. M. Madden and Y. Kelly, also Mrs. C. Burnett. Business was of a routine nature and two new members were' elected. The general meeting, which followed, was well attended and the particular interest of the gathering was a lecture by Mr. C. S. Williams, F.R.C.S.E., on the “Modern Methods in the Treatment of Tuberculosis,’’ which was greatly appreciated. Miss McKenny returned thanks to the speaker. The resignation of Miss V. Kelly as secretary was accepted with regret, Miss McKenny voicing the members’ appreciation of the splendid work she had done in bringing the branch to its present high level.
