Great enthusiasm is being shown by all followers of polo in the Hawke s Bay Polo Club’s yankee tournament which entered its third day on the club’s grounds at Hastings this morning. The players are now well in form and warmed up to the competition, and as the weather to-day looks like settling, prospects are that this will be one of the most successful tournaments held by the club. The grounds are still in a soft conditions and are cutting up rough too Ireely to keep a good surface, but the fields are receiving a good harrowing each day, which is proving invaluable. . Play this morning was well up to championship standard, being very fast and open, a type of play that is pleasing to the spectator. The Rangitikei-Hawke’s Bay game proved to be an exciting struggle between two very evenly matched teams, and although Hawke’s Bay ran out the ultimate victors Rangitikei contested every stroke.
