Quality of Small Yarding Attracts Bidding LITTLE CHEAP BUYING -Ms: From Our Own Correa Don dent. HASTINGS, Last Night. A small offering of store sheep met with a ready market at Stortford Lodge to-day, when values showed r-n all-round improvement on last week’s rates. Lambs met with keen selling, and tho yarding included some very well-grown lines showing qualify. Shorn Romney-cross wether lambs, well-grown, made from 17s 2d to ISs 4d. Shorn ewe lambs from Porangahau brought 23s 6d. Attracted by the good quality several buyers were in the market and competed freely to lift these lines. Wethers improved fully Is a head to-day, when fat and forward lines sold at 23s Bd. Half-bred wethers off high country made 22s 6d. Fattening ewes in forward order met with a good market at 14s. in to-ciay's ottering few lines made cheap buying. Realisations weie as under:— On account of Mr J. N. Lowry, Omahaki, 219 well-framed half-bred wethers, in very forward condition, and in early finishing order as quality mutton, were sold at 22/6. On account of Powdrell Bros., Maraekakaho, 298 well-woolled two-tooth wethers, in very forward conditier* an attractive line, sold at 23/8. On account of Mr E. J. White, Braeburn, Porangahau, 282 well-grown shorn Romney-cross wether lambs in forward condition, being in fresh healthy order, attracted keen bidding to sell at 17/2. A further draft of 375 half-bred wethers on account of Mr J. N. Lowry and off his Omahaki property, were passed at 19/9. These wethers were medium-grown and in quite fair condition, being thoroughly sound. On account of Mr B. Shaw, Clifton, 219 well-grown Romney-cross wether lambs, in very forward condition and very bright and healthy, sold at 18/4. A line of 140 well-framed ewes in forward order and should fatten readily sold well at 14/-. An offering of 100 well-grown fat and forward wethers, in splendid order, many being ready to hang up, met the market at 23/7. On account of Mr E. J. White, Porangahau, 185 Romney-cross shorn ewe lambs, fairly grown and in splendid order; sold ?3/P.
