Young Bird Show

MANAWATU POULTRY, PIGEON, CANARY AND FOREIGN BIRD CLUB Improving on the standard of previous years, both in entries which totalled 281 as compared with 242 last year, and in quality, was the annual young bird show of the Manawatu Poultry, Pigeon, Canary and Foreign Bird Club, hold in the A. and P. Association, buildings yesterday afternoon and evening. Tho committee comprised Messrs. J. T. Brice (president), G. Fairbrother, J. Bainbridge, P. Evans, R. Alajor, T. B. Holdaway, R. Wright, S. Street, L. Hunter, T. Petersen, A. S. Coates, G. Holbrook, E. Saunders, A. E. Chatfield, T. Andrews, and J. Purcell. The secretary is Air. A. E. Burgess. Championships were awarded as follow: Best standard.—Male: G. Fairbrother; female, P. Alummery; female, T. Evans. Utility.—Male: W. Fletcher (Longburn); female, S. Wilkinson. Runnerup: male, J. H.
