There was a fair attendance at the an-; nual meeting of the Methodist Guild, Mrs Foston presiding. The balance sheet showed a good credit balance to commence the year with. The election of officers resulted: President, Mrs Foston; secretary, Mrs B. Williamson; treasurer, Mrs D. Smith; missionary secretary, Mrs J. Scheidt. Votes of thanks were accorded Mesdames Schiedt and Jackson for their past services. It was intimated that the Harvest Festival would be held on March 27 and sale of produce on the following evening when supper will be provided by the Ladies’ Guild. Young Farmers’ Club. There was a good attendance of young farmers and others interested in the formation of a Bunnythorpe branch at a meeting held in the sports pjavilion. Mr J. Linklater was elected to the chair. In his opening remarks. Mr Linklater expressed the view that from what he had seen and heard, the Young Farmers’ Club movement was one worthy of support by all young farmers. Mr A. J. Galpin, who had arranged the meeting, gave an outline of the objects of the movement and mentioned some of the advantages enjoyed by members. Some social organisation was required for young men between the ages of 16 and 25 years, being out of town. Mr C. J Hamblyn spoke on the New Zealand organisation and amongst other things stressed the necessity for the support of the chairman and secretary, both in attendance at meetings and any other projects decided upon by the club. Much more could be done by cooperation than by any other way. Mr G.' S. Robinson also spoke on the advantages to be gained by members of the club. Mr Linklater then put the motion that a club be formed in Bunnythorpe, and it was carried unanimously. This was followed by the election of officers, which resulted. President: Mr Linklater; advisory members, Messrs A. F. McKenzie. D. Heggie, and Gunn; chairman, Mr O. Anderson, secretary, Mr A. Stewart; committee, Messrs Hyde, Hill, Gore and Rowan. It was decided to hold club meetings on the second Monday of each month, and that Mr Denize be asked to lecture on animal husbandry at the first meeting. Votes of thanks were accorded to Messrs Hamblyn, Galpin, Sherwood and Robinson for their assistance in the initial work of the club. Rifle Club. The local riflemen are preparing for the coming season. The annual meeting takes place next Monday. Personal. Mr and Mrs R. Stewart are visiting the Rev. and Mrs Wills, of the West Coast, South Island. Mrs Hennessey is on holiday in Levin,

recuperating after her recent illness. Cricket. Tn a cricket match played between Hiwinui and Bunnythorpe on the Domain on Saturday, Hiwinifi proved the winners by 21 runs.
