Makomako
.fiter-Club Tennis. A match between Mangamaire and Makomako tennis teams was played on the Makomako courts on Saturday and resulted in a substantial win for tho home team. Playing conditions were ideal and an enjoyable day was spent. Lunch and afternoon tea was served by the local team and play extended into the late afternoon. Following are the individual scores, Mangamaire players being first-named:— Ladies’ singles: Miss McPherson lost to Miss Sonntag, I— 6; Miss Moriarty lost to Miss Ebbett, 5 — 6; Miss Lyall lost to Miss Day, o— 6; Miss Green lost to Miss Ness, 2— 6; Mrs. Kendall beat Miss Angove, 6 —3; Miss Lawson lost to Mrs. Ebbett, 3— 6. Men’s singles: B. Southey lost to R. Sonntag, 2— 6; E. Ludlow lost to G. Garlick, 5— 6; G. Lyall beat R. Day, 6—2; J. Treder lost to G. Atkinson, A. Matson lost to H. Ebbett, 3 — 6; Lucas beat A.
