APOSTOLIC DELEGATE’S FAREWELL Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Last Night. C atitude for the kindly receptions ace« rded him in Auckland and appreciation of the cordiality and goodwill extended during the recent Catholic centenary celebrations are expressed in the farewell message of his excellency the Apostolic Delegate, the Most Rev. Dr. J. Panico, who leaves on his return lo Sydney by the Awatea to-morrow. His excellency will be accompanied by Monsignor T. J. King and Rev. Dr. McCabe, M.S.C., the members of his staff and other prelates and priests who have been attending the celebrations. “As I leave New Zealand I wish to express my deep appreciation of the hospitality which as representative of the sovereign pontiff, I have received since my arrival here a little more than a fortnight ago,” said his excellency. “I wish New Zealand well and to my blessing I attach the hope enshrine.! in the words of one of your great statesmen that her people with firm reliance upon the laws of God may procede bv paths of peaceful prosperity to the fruition of an enduring civilisation.”
